About the Destination
Ross Island is a historical gem located just short distance from Port Blair. It once served as the administrative headquarters of the British Penal Settlement, earned the nickname "Paris of the East" due to its lavish lifestyle. Following an earthquake and war, the British abandoned it, and today nature has reclaimed the ruins. Ficus tree roots wrap around the crumbling brick structures of the church, printing press, and bakery. The island is also home to friendly herds of spotted deer and peacocks.
